The Marlins were once a proud and very high standing sports team in the Mid North Coast Rugby Union Competition, and won the Presidents Cup in 1997, only to fold in 1998. Drawing players from the University made it difficult to retain numbers as students graduated and moved away.
In 2010 the Marlins were revived in Reserve Grade and in 2011 made the Mid North Coast Semi Final.
In 2012 the Marlins took the step up to MNCRU First Grade, a move which was seen to reinvigorate the competition. The Marlins took a further step in 2013 when they added their first junior side in the Under 16’s comp, who won the minor and major premiership that year. The 16’s backed up in 2014 to be minor premiers again. In 2014 our Reserve Grade also made the qualifying final.
2015 saw another major milestone with The Marlins fielding U/18’s and U/14’s for the first time ever, along with U/16’s, Reserves and First grade. This also became our most successful year so far with premiership wins in all 3 junior grades. A feat no other club has accomplished.
The Marlins are now one of the largest and strongest clubs in the Mid North Coast, fielding teams in all available grades.
